The patented Lubber Tote was designed by Dennis Brazzell in Franklin, Tennessee. While on vacation at the beach with his wife and two daughters, Dennis noticed the popularity of colorful rubber clogs and wondered whether the wearers might enjoy a matching tote. His wife, Suzanne, later suggested the addition of the interchangeable charms, now called “Lubbs,” which were immediately popular.
After winning the September 2008 Big Idea with Donny Deutsch Show for best new idea, the debut of the Lubber Tote at the Atlanta and New York Gift Shows in 2009 helped popularize this new line of colorful and versatile totes.
